Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner

The Opportunity:
We are recruiting Nurse Practitioners who are passionate about transforming primary care and have a desire to work in functional and integrative medicine, preferably those who have completed or started training in functional or integrative medicine. The ideal candidates are interested in addressing the root cause of illness, promoting preventative medicine, and empowering patients to live their best life through better health and wellbeing.

This is a full-time role seeing patients in-person at a Harrisburg, PA employer-based clinic.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide primary care services with longer patient visits that allow for a functional medical approach
• Manage acute and chronic health problems using evidence-based protocols. Utilize functional medicine principles to identify underlying imbalances and dysfunctions in the body’s systems
• Provide health screenings, immunizations, and other disease prevention programs.
• Provide age-appropriate assessments and interventions and provide personalized patient care according to the guidelines provided by the practice
• Provide patient/family education, health coaching, and health advocacy services of patients and/or their families.
• Provide occupational care, as needed.
• Administer medicines and treatments.
• Order, administer and analyze diagnostic testing to formulate individualized treatment plans.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions. collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
• Enter patient data into the EMR system in a timely manner.
• Assist in all areas of the clinic, if needed.

What you’ll need:

• Active PA Nurse Practitioner license
• 3+ years of experience providing primary care
• 2+ years of experience practicing functional medicine
• Prescriptive authorization
• Proficiency in conducting comprehensive patient assessments and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to educate and empower patients to make informed decisions about their health.
• Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of emerging trends and research in functional medicine.
• Dedication to providing compassionate and patient-centered care in a supportive and inclusive environment.
• A commitment to modeling a healthy lifestyle, encompassing proper nutrition, exercise, and work-life balance

Not required, but it would be great if you also have:

Familiarity using EMR system (Elation), Microsoft Teams, Spruce, and Excel

• The starting salary for this role is between $115,000-$140,000 depending on skills and experience.
