Part-time Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Arizona Wellness Medicine is looking for an experienced NP or PA to join our clinic.

We prefer 1-2 years of Functional Medicine knowledge and experience, and an IFM, A4M or Kresser ADAPT Functional Medicine Certification.

Arizona Wellness Medicine is a cash pay functional medicine concierge style practice.

Position overview:

We are looking for a part-time practitioner to see already established and new functional medicine patients 1-2 days per week, with room to grow if desired.  We are looking for a practitioner with the skills to establish a positive rapport, build a strong and healthy therapeutic relationship, and who is an empathic listener and problem solver.   The ideal candidate would have a strong personal interest in health, nutrition, and fitness, have outstanding people skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.

Applicants must possess a valid Arizona medical license , a valid DEA license, and be BLS certified

Responsibilities

• New patient consultations and follow up visits, including developing and implementing patient-management plans
• Document patient care services by charting in patient records (Cerbo)
• Answer patient messages daily
• Complete assigned tasks related to patient care daily (such as prescription refills)
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
• Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

Candidate Must Have the Following:

• 1-2 Years of working experience with preferred 1 year minimum in Integrative/Functional Medicine
  • IFM, A4M or Kresser ADAPT Functional Medicine Certification
• Current Licensure to practice in Arizona
• Excellent communication skills
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Excellent clinical and critical thinking
• Works well in a team environment
• Excellent bedside manner
• Mental and reasoning requirements:
  • Uses critical thinking skills to work with documents and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Able to review quantitative and qualitative work and identify questionable items
  • Expert problem-solving and data-analysis skills
  • Able to set goals based on available information and to plan work in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for data, services and information from internal or external customers with a wide range of personalities and demeanors
• Physical requirements/working conditions:
  • Stands and walks at least part of the day
  • Stands and walks to other parts of the office throughout the day
  • May assist patients with sitting, standing and walking to and from exam rooms
  • Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting
  • Potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood borne pathogens
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments
