Lead Infusion Nurse
Position Summary
The Lead Infusion Nurse is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the infusion center while also providing direct patient care. This role combines clinical excellence, leadership, training, and administrative coordination to ensure optimal patient outcomes, efficient operations, and alignment with OWM’s high standards of integrative wellness care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Care
- Administer and monitor advanced IV therapies, including nutritional IVs, mitochondrial support IVs, NAD+, methylene blue, EBOO, plasmapheresis, and oncology-related infusions.
- Safely manage central line and peripheral IV access.
- Assess patients before, during, and after infusion, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Maintain infusion protocols, pharmacy orders, and proper documentation.
Leadership & Training
- Serve as the clinical lead and point of contact for the infusion nursing team.
- Train, mentor, and onboard new nurses and CNAs to ensure consistent standards of care.
- Lead weekly staff huddles and coordinate team schedules.
- Assist in nurse recruitment and evaluation.
Administrative Oversight
- Monitor chair utilization, daily/weekly volume, and adherence to infusion center targets.
- Collaborate with leadership on quality assurance, compliance, and efficiency initiatives.
- Track and report infusion center metrics (patients in chairs, IV bag counts, revenue benchmarks).
- Partner with front desk and PA/MD staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
Business Development Support
- Support upselling of infusion add-ons and packages when clinically appropriate.
- Encourage cross-referrals to other OWM services (HBOT, Regenerative Medicine, Cancer Recovery, Optimal Life).
- Participate in marketing initiatives and patient education campaigns.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (BSN preferred).
- Minimum 3 years infusion or oncology nursing experience; prior leadership preferred.
- Skilled in IV placement, management of advanced infusion protocols, and patient safety monitoring.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience with EMR systems and infusion center workflow.
- Passion for integrative and functional medicine is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary:
$104,000–$114,400 annually (equivalent to $50–$55/hour for a 40-hour week).
Final offer within this range will be based on experience, leadership ability, and infusion center expertise.
Performance Bonus:
Up to $6,000 annually (paid quarterly) tied to infusion center performance:
Chair utilization consistently at/above weekly targets
Successful training and onboarding of new infusion staff
Documented upsell or cross-referral activity (tracking upgrades/packages)
