Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is a physician and the founder of the Institute for Muscle-Centric Medicine/Strong Medical. The practice focuses on skeletal muscle as the key driver of health, metabolic function, and long-term vitality. Our model uses evidence-based medicine and targeted clinical protocols that improve body composition, stabilize metabolism, and address root-cause drivers of disease.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are hiring a licensed physician with a strong foundation in metabolic health, endocrinology, autoimmune disease, exercise science, and nutrition. Fellowship training is a plus. You will deliver high-touch, patient-centered care in a fully virtual practice that values clinical precision, scientific integrity, and measurable results.

You will guide motivated patients through advanced evaluation, root-cause analysis, and personalized protocols designed to restore metabolic health, optimize muscle, and improve overall function. You must maintain a consistent personal fitness routine to align with the standards of Muscle-Centric Medicine. You will receive ongoing training in the model.

We value service to the military community. Prior military service or experience caring for military populations is a plus.

This role begins at 1 to 2 days per week and transitions to 3 to 4 days per week as your patient panel grows.

BENEFITS OF THE POSITION

  • Extended appointment lengths. Ninety minutes for new patients. Sixty minutes for first follow-ups. Thirty minutes for ongoing visits.
  • A full panel is approximately 200 patients.
  • No/Few after-hours calls. No hospital work.
  • Weekend communication is rare and only occurs when staff cannot resolve an urgent issue.
  • Daily patient volume is typically 6 to 8.
  • You will work with medically complex cases and must be willing to grow your skills in functional lab analysis, nutritional medicine, stool testing, OATS testing, hormones, mold-related conditions, and microscopy-based parasitology.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide high-level telehealth care 1 to 2 days per week with a path to 3 to 4 days per week.
  • Uphold strict standards for SOAP documentation, protocols, portal communication, and clinical accuracy.
  • Lead patients through referrals and coordinate access to high-quality specialty care.
  • Build strong patient relationships that support satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Participate in internal education to maintain protocol consistency across the practice.
  • Maintain responsiveness to patient communication during business hours and ensure responsible follow-up outside business hours when needed.
  • Follow all medical board and licensing regulations.
  • Contribute to a high-performance team culture. We want a physician who plans to grow within the practice, not build a separate venture.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS

  • At least one year of clinical experience after residency or fellowship.
  • MD or DO with an active DEA license.
  • Personal malpractice coverage that can include Dr. Lyon, Young Medical, and IMCM/Strong Medical.
  • Licensure in New York, Texas, Florida, and California within six months of employment. Additional state licensure will follow as your panel expands.
  • Strong communication skills. You must present complex information in clear, direct language.
  • High analytical ability, disciplined clinical reasoning, and strong attention to detail.
