Holistic Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Role at Kuya Wellness
Kuya is an 11,000 sq ft nature-inspired wellness facility at the forefront of individualized ‘Whole Human Care’, which considers the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health care. We believe in evidence-based practices while embracing emerging therapies like IV vitamin therapy, diagnostic testing, supplementation, and procedures such as Stellate Ganglion Blocks (SGB). About the Role:
As a holistic Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant you will play a key role in our health and wellness modalities, working closely with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive functional care. We are looking for a team player with a passion for integrative and regenerative medicine who has extensive knowledge in treating the root causes of health needs related to balancing hormones, gut function, chronic stress, and autoimmune disorders. This role would integrate and assist in building out medical offerings onsite while adding to Kuya’s fully functional medical program. The ideal candidate is passionate about functional medicine, has excellent clinical judgment, and is skilled at patient education and relationship-building.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including comprehensive medical histories and physical exams.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools, including laboratory testing, to identify root causes of health concerns.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on functional medicine principles, including lifestyle modifications, nutritional support, and supplementation involving IV infusions, diagnostic testing, and med management.
• Collaborate with physicians, health coaches, nutritionists, and other team members to deliver integrated care.
• Educate patients on their health conditions, empowering them to take an active role in their health journey.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA and company protocols.
• Stay current with the latest research and advancements in functional medicine through continuing education and training.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of our medical program.
Qualifications:
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Texas – Current Texas PA or NP License with prescriptive authority
• DEA License
• Relevant functional medicine training (A4M, IFM, or similar)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in regenerative, integrative, or functional medicine, with experience treating autoimmune disease, thyroid conditions, hormone imbalance, cardio-metabolic, gastrointestinal health, and health optimization needs
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in interpreting functional lab tests (e.g., micronutrient panels, hormone testing, gut health testing)
