This role is ideal for a physician who believes that optimal skin health begins with internal balance — and who is passionate about helping patients achieve long-term vitality through the integration of dermatology, functional medicine, and lifestyle optimization.
Position Summary
The Functional & Integrative Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care that combines conventional medicine with advanced functional and integrative modalities. The focus will be on identifying and treating root causes of inflammation, hormonal imbalance, autoimmune disease, gut dysfunction, and other internal factors that affect skin, aging, and overall wellness.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with our board-certified dermatologist, physician assistants, and aesthetic team to create whole-body treatment plans that support longevity, beauty, and health from the inside out.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth functional and integrative health consultations, including comprehensive history-taking and advanced diagnostic testing (e.g., hormonal panels, gut microbiome testing, nutrient analysis, inflammation markers, etc.).
- Develop personalized treatment plans addressing nutrition, hormone optimization, gut health, detoxification, stress management, sleep, and metabolic balance.
- Utilize a combination of conventional medicine and evidence-based functional interventions such as nutraceuticals, peptides, IV therapy, bioidentical hormone therapy, and lifestyle modification.
- Collaborate with dermatology providers to integrate internal wellness strategies that enhance outcomes in skin health, anti-aging, and aesthetic medicine.
- Educate patients on preventive care, longevity, and holistic strategies for maintaining wellness and youthful vitality.
- Participate in the development of the practice’s wellness programs and support marketing initiatives, workshops, and patient education efforts.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to all compliance and safety standards.
Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active Florida medical license (or eligibility).
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Endocrinology, or a related specialty.
- Formal training or certification in Functional and/or Integrative Medicine (e.g., IFM, A4M, AIHM) strongly preferred.
- Experience or strong interest in aesthetics, dermatology, or longevity medicine.
- Strong understanding of hormonal, metabolic, and autoimmune mechanisms affecting the skin and systemic health.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered, empathetic approach.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for helping shape a growing wellness division within an established, high-end aesthetic practice.
