Location: Vienna, Virginia  |  Employment Type: W2 | Full-Time or Part-Time

Compensation: $70-$200 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Dr. Zarbalian founded East-West Rheumatology and Integrative medicine in Northern Virginia in 2019, with a mission of delivering holistic medical care and taking a multifaceted approach to autoimmune disease, chronic pain, and many other conditions.  We see a wide variety of patients whose needs are not being adequately met by conventional rheumatology: fibromyalgia/soft tissue pain, Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) with multisystem involvement, autoimmune disease with poor or inadequate response to immune suppression or ongoing quality of life issues, post-infection syndromes such as reactive arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and a wide variety of internal medicine conditions are managed as well.  Dr. Zarbalian’s approach is interdisciplinary and engages the patient as a hero on their health journey.

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time or Full-time Integrative Physician (MD or DO), Psychotherapist, Naturopath, Nurse Practitioner, or Physical Therapist where your expertise will empower patients on their journey toward optimal health and well-being. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver personalized, holistic care in a collaborative environment. You will assess, diagnose, and treat patients using a variety of integrative modalities, ensuring comprehensive care that addresses physical, nutritional, and lifestyle factors. Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, history, and detailed medical history reviews.
  • Utilize knowledge of either functional medicine, traditional chinese, ayurvedic, or indigenous medicine to implement a holistic plan including education of patients on health maintenance, lifestyle modifications, herbal medicine, acupuncture, qigong or yoga.
  • Utilize your physiology and anatomy knowledge to develop effective treatment strategies, possibly including osteopathic intervention, regenerative medicine injections (PRP or prolotherapy), or other physical medicine interventions / OMT when indicated.
  • Facility with explaining medical terminology and ability to ensure clear patient understanding of their care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, including injection administration, physical examinations, and treatment outcomes.
  • Optional : Provide pediatric care when appropriate, including assessments and treatment plans for children across different age groups.

Requirements

  • Licensed or credentialed as an integrative physician, osteopath, psychotherapist, naturopath, nurse practitioner, or physical therapist with relevant certifications in your field.
  • Proven experience with either functional medicine, regenerative medicine injections, traditional Chinese, ayurvedic, indigenous medicine, or physical medicine/OMT.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Skilled in performing physical examinations and vital signs monitoring across diverse patient populations.
  • Experience in primary care or specialist settings with a focus on holistic approaches integrating nutrition and lifestyle counseling.
  • Ability to apply aseptic techniques diligently during invasive procedures such as injections or venipuncture.
  • Optional : Familiarity with pediatric care principles and practices for treating children safely and effectively.
