Nurse Practitioner – Integrative or Functional Medicine
Seldovia Village Tribe, a tribal government, owns and operates SVT Health & Wellness. Our clinics are dedicated to improving the health of all people in our communities by providing quality, respectful and culturally-appropriate primary, holistic and preventative care. This position is based in beautiful Homer, Alaska, overlooking Kachemak Bay, mountains and glaciers! We are located about a 4 hour drive, or 45 minute flight to Anchorage.

We are looking for an Integrative Medicine or Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner who can do the following:
- Have a passion for integrative care and to serve others
- Is responsible for the provision of direct primary clinical health, wellness, and preventive care for patients of SVT Health and Wellness.
- Incorporates both primary family healthcare and a holistic integrative model or functional medicine model of care to support a broad approach to health which addresses the many facets of wellness.
- Provides comprehensive, integrative, holistic health services within a primary care setting with particular sensitivity to the needs of our patient population
- Participates in the counseling of chronic and infectious disease patients, treatment, and medical care
- Functions as a patient advocate; conduct follow up care and coordinate patient care with other holistic providers within the practice, and make appropriate referrals for patient continuity of care.
- Participates in data collection and statistical reporting as deemed necessary for grant administration, healthcare compliance and clinical quality improvement.
- Participate in grants applications and administration as it relates to clinical care.
- Consults with Care Coordinator for review of laboratory and x-ray results, patient follow-up, referral and/or patient questions that arise as a result of office visits.
- Position is based in Homer, Alaska. Be able to travel as needed to other communities including Anchor Point, to and from Homer / Seldovia by small airplane and sometimes by boat when airplanes are on weather hold. Travel is a day trip, but inclement weather may require an overnight stay in Seldovia.
- This is an in-person position and not a remote position.
What you’ll need:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing; Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body; unrestricted DEA Certification, State of Alaska Advanced practice Nurse license OR ability to attain within 3 months of hire.
- Post-training clinical experience or continuing medical education in holistic specialty, integrative medicine, naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, or related fields.
- 4+ years of experience in Primary Care with a strong preference for experience practicing in integrative or holistic clinical environments.
- Be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment background check including fingerprinting.
