Functional Mind LLC is an established and growing functional medicine psychiatry and integrative care practice, founded in 2016. While our clinical niche focuses on the mind and brain, we function as a full-service functional medicine practice utilizing a multidisciplinary, root-cause-oriented model to address complex chronic illness.
Due to sustained patient demand, we are seeking a licensed functional medicine clinician to contract with our practice.
Independent Contractor Relationship
This position is structured as an independent contractor (1099) arrangement. The selected clinician will:
- Maintain clinical independence and professional judgment
- Control their own clinical decision-making, scheduling availability, and patient visit cadence
- Build their own patient panel within the Functional Mind LLC referral ecosystem
- Be responsible for their own taxes, benefits, licensure, and professional insurance, as applicable
- This role does not constitute an employer-employee relationship.
Role Structure
- Hybrid model: One designated in-office day per week; remaining visits conducted via telehealth at clinician discretion
- Flexible workload: Part-time initially, with the opportunity to expand to full-time based on patient enrollment and clinician preference
- Telehealth-forward practice with in-person care used selectively
- Administrative and operational support provided, including scheduling, intake coordination, and access to a multidisciplinary care team
- Optional collaboration with an FMCA-trained health coach who supports patients between visits
Licensure
Active Rhode Island license required
Massachusetts license required or willingness to obtain due to patient demographics (~50% MA)
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of post-training clinical experience in conventional medicine
Formal training in functional medicine or integrative medicine required
- IFM training strongly preferred
- Prior experience in the integrative / holistic medicine space preferred; mentoring available for appropriately aligned clinicians
- Comfort managing complex, multi-system chronic conditions using a functional medicine framework
Preferred (Not Required)
IV therapy certification
Bio-identical hormone therapy experience
Peptide therapy training
