Three Out of Every Four Healthcare Workers Use CAM
An August 2011 study found that 76% of healthcare professionals, especially doctors and nurses, use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) compared with 63% of the general population. This high usage of CAM by conventional providers speaks volumes.
This is an important study to share so that consumers are not only aware of CAM’s effectiveness, but also so that patients feel more comfortable talking to their providers about their use of complementary and alternative treatments. This openness and acceptance will allow CAM to be more integrative with conventional treatments.
